I am also known as Ms. DaMeanor. I am the owner and one of the many instructors for First Class Defensive Driving. I am very customer oriented. Helping my students get through the court process and learn in an enjoyable atmosphere is my number one goal in my work.
I am a Fort Worth girl, born and raised. I traveled to the California Bay area and stayed a few years (it was a wonderful experience) but I came right back! There is no place like home!
I have two precious grandkids, Chloe and John. I never get enough of them! I am so glad they live nearby.
Vacationing is mandatory at my house. My husband and I both love to be in or near the water. Travel to a beach is a yearly event and I look forward to fresh seafood! Hawaii is my favorite destination, usually Kauai but Maui is next on my list. Snorkeling and shopping always make great memories. When I am not on vacation, I am at home near the pool, usually planting something or cooking outside! Life is good!
I earned my B.S. degree in Business Management with University of Phoenix online in 2007. That was a lifelong accomplishment finally realized! A few months later, I retired from Lockheed Martin after 25 fun filled years of employment. Now I stay busy teaching defensive driving and running the office. I also prepare income tax returns and find that to be a challenging and learning but rewarding experience! I just love to be busy! (While working at Lockheed Martin, I finished my degree, wrote the curriculum for First Class Defensive Driving, and retired early to run my business!) I am also writing a book about success at any age! My motto is Anyone can succeed!?
Bernie Goeders (Professor Daytona Raceway)
The Professor is a military brat but claims Oklahoma as home. He has lived abroad with his family including 4 brothers and sisters, in Germany and the Philippines. When the Professor came to Texas with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State, he tried to make up for it by obtaining a Master of Science Degree from Texas A&M! He is now an Okie/Aggie and proud of it! He got here as soon as he could, and were glad to have him!
The professor oversees First Class Defensive Driving with his wife, Ms. DaMeanor but has daylighted as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin since 1986.
Like Ms. DaMeanor, he loves being near the water and vacations as often as his schedule will let him!
I earned the name Ms. Behaving from my students and co-workers in defensive driving classes. I think it says that I have fun at what ever I do! Life is good!
I am also known as Patty Plane, a nickname I earned when I was working at Lockheed Martin. Near the end of my 28 plus years at LM, I got involved in a program to eliminate Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and an F-16 costume was made for a FOD skit. I walked around, on occasion with my F-16 costume on and talked to people about FOD. When I retired, they let me take it home with me. I have entered three Halloween Costume Contests, winning First Place twice and Second place once!
My career at General Dynamics, now known as Lockheed Martin, was a golden opportunity. I was the first "female" Technical Training Instructor in the Education Department and the first female Supervisor assigned to a whole airplane. I loved going to work for 28 plus years before retiring. My years serving in the National Management Association was highlighted by the trips and Conferences that I participated in.
The main accomplishment in my life is that I am the Mother of three children, one girl and two boys, and three grandchildren, one girl and two grandsons, my favorite six-pack. Family is important to me and I love spending time with all of them! Life is special!
Travel is my favorite thing to do. It doesn't matter where, just going is a thrill. There is still a lot that I have to see in the Eastern United States yet and a little of the Western side to see yet. I have had the pleasure of a few cruises out of Galveston . Now, those side trips on shore are a blast. I got to swim with dolphins in Cozumel; I kissed a stingray and a turtle for good luck in the Grand Cayman Islands , and nearly won a limbo contest in Playa De Carmen! Life is fun!
I am a healthy lady in my sixties, but 26 at heart. I am blessed!
I am a native of Fort Worth , TX and have been a resident of Forest Hill for about twenty-two years. I attended the historic I. M. Terrell High School and was a cheerleader and a class favorite. I was inducted into the National Honor Society in the seventh grade and remained until I graduated high School. After graduating from I. M. Terrell, I continued my studies at Texas Southern University majoring in Business.
Upon entering the workforce, I was employed by the Fort Worth Independent School District . I held positions in Human Resources, School & Community Relations. I also served on the faculty of several schools, James E. Guinn, Dunbar Middle and Van Zandt Guinn.
I love to travel and had the opportunity to travel extensively while employed at a major airline. At American Airlines I held positions in Ground Passenger Services Training where we trained travel agents to use the Sabre System, Flight Services at the AA Flight Academy, and I was a Pilot Recruitment Specialist and was a member of the Pilot Selection Board for American Eagle Pilots.
I represented the company in many public relations events such as: The Organization of Black Airline Pilots & The Tuskegee Airmen Conferences, The Alliance of Businessmen?s Youth Motivation Programs (Plans for Progress Task Force on Youth Motivation) where 31 Metroplex companies described opportunities open to high school graduates and The Ebony Fashion Fair.
I am married, and I have one daughter who has given me three beautiful grandchildren, Drej, Rhance and Rylan whom I love unconditionally.
I am a member of The Texas Retired Teachers Association, Secretary of the Forest Hill Library Board of Trustees. I am very unperturbed around people and work well with myriad personalities.
My name is Dan Barringer. I earned the nick name "Book-em Dan-o" from friends and fellow workers during the time that I worked for the Federal Police in Police Communications at the Federal Building in Ft. Worth. I was born in Ft. Worth Texas. I grew up in Euless and went to Trinity High School, Class of 1980 (Go Trojans). I have been living in the Roanoke / Keller area since 1989.
I, like a lot of people received a speeding ticket; I was sixteen and had only been driving about 4 months. I remembered what my mom had told me: if you get a ticket, I will take your license away. I was able to keep my license but I had to pay the ticket fee and in 1977, $25 was a lot for a 16 year old.
I have always liked to help people and in the mid to late 80s I volunteered in the fire service. First with the Roanoke Fire Department and then with the Haslet Fire Department. During that time, I was a CPR instructor and trained hundreds of others to do CPR. I was a Fire Fighter - EMT and also was a Second Assistant Fire Chief. After just over 21 years in the fire service, I developed asthma and had to leave the fire service. During those years, I was able to help a lot of people and even saved some lives, and yes, I also have my name on a few birth certificates. When you are a Firefighter- EMT, you get to see a lot.
I missed helping people and decided in 2008 to become a Defensive Driving Instructor through First Class Defensive Driving. Now, I can still help people. When you have been one of the rescuers helping people after they have been involved in a crash, it makes you think. By being an Instructor, I can try to help people realize that speeding in not always best; we all know that speed kills - why risk it. And like I have done in the past, by being a driving safety instructor, I could save your life today.
Thanks for reading.
